For instance, reading a text, lifting the attention from:

1) the meaning of Individual words, so one just sees a string of black ink on white background.
Or
2) the meaning of a whole sentence, but giving meaning to single words in that sentence. (So the words have meaning, but the sentence - makes no sense to the mind.

Is this a form of meditation?

To me this sounds more like manipulating content/information. So, no. I'd say it has nothing to do with meditation. Meditation is being with what's there in the moment, with what's going on without manipulation.

But, maybe I have misunderstood you.
