I know that we get out of the cycle of Samsara... but then what happens? Insentience? Non existence? Can it even be described?

Freedom from suffering is sentient.  Wow, That’s interesting.  If not reborn, then what? Formless sentient?

That means freedom from suffering is achieved while you live. Not reborn as in there is no continuation.

Ahhhhh ok.  So, then when you are enlightened and then do die, is that it? Insentience? No- consciousness, nothing?

Consciousness is one of the five aggregates. The five aggregates are caused phenomena. If the root cause is eliminated, there will be no arising of the five aggregates at the end of life. It's not nothing. It's Nibbana.

You know what I’m going to ask next don’t you?
by (18.8k points)
No, but if you put a good effort to study the four noble truths, most of these questions wouldn't arise.

:) I assume Nibbana is indescribable and permanent?.. just a state of non self.
No point asking a question I doubt anyone has an answer to.

Everything that is real is 'non-self'. Not just Nibbana. Nibbana is the cessation of suffering.

The cause of suffering is craving. Enlightenment results in cutting off of craving. I recommend studying the Four Noble Truths for more details.

Those who have achieved the complete freedom of suffering are indeed sentient. But they are not reborn. So there is no continuation of Samsara.

If you exit Samsara(cycle of continuous existence and corresponding suffering) then you do not have a birth in any of the realms. End of the cycle.
