I got into meditation because I wanted to be in a wholesome state, does that mean I'm clinging to wholesomeness? I guess it's natural for all us to be clinging to the wholesome states, I know I can't you for help to avoid this clinging because that would be aversion, but what can I do with this?

There are 4 types of clinging(Upaadana):

  1. sense-pleasure clinging (kamupadana)
  2. all views clinging (ditthupadana)
  3. rites-and-rituals clinging (silabbatupadana)
  4. self-doctrine clinging (attavadupadana).

Lets say you have an illness related to alcohol addiction and the doctor recommends you to work on rehabilitation. You have 2 choices:

1. Keep on drinking
2. Work on rehabilitation to give up the bad habit.

If you reject the doctor's advice and pick option 1, it's obvious that you are giving into your craving. It falls under clinging to sense pleasures. But if you pick option 2, it is wisdom and does not fall under any of the above 4 categories.
