What is a day-in-the-life like for a Buddhist monk?

I am curious about all manners and walkings of Buddhist monks and I would like to know what a 'day in the life' might look like for different kinds of Buddhist monks, both in modernity and in history.

To give a quick answer, monks are supposed to keep to the precepts, learn the Dhamma and meditate regardless of their nationality or previous religion.  You would see modern monks using aspects of modern lifestyle like technology. Apart from that, the monks who walk in the noble eightfold path attain enlightenment and others do not. That's true for both past and the present regardless of your country of origin, appearance or race.
