Go on, good householder! It's seldom that skilful intention arise and of course the hindrances (doubt, sense-desire...), the evil friends outside and inside, start to pull back as soon as getting aware of the 'danger' that 'beloved' would go forth.
No need to fear that not perfect from beginning. It would be like not willing to go to school because not able to read and right for now. Original the Buddha even didn't wished to have interested informed on much details of the monks live because of such doubt and fear arising.
The earlier, the better! As the Sublime Buddha told, not of favor to go forth in the old, when sick... but a favor to go on when young, healthy...
May good householder always avoid the five bad friends (nivaranas) and always associated with the seven good (factors of awakening) and soon follow the deep hearts call.
As for the right drive to go on, Samvega, seeing the dangers in the world, uncertaincy, aging, sickness and death, and with combination of right-'pride', 'when they could go beyond, why not me likewise', is the most needed source. 'What's a nice bed if getting old, sick, die, on it like-a-like...', nobody dies from simply dwelling places.
